The city of Jaworzno, Poland held it’s annual Christmas charity auction, with the winner getting to rename one of it’s traffic circles for one year with almost anything they wanted. Polish internet services company Art-Com bid 15,800 Polish Zloty (about $5,115) to win the auction, and chose to name the intersection ‘Jeff Hanneman’s Circle Pit’ as a tribute to the late Slayer guitarist. A message on the official sign that is displayed at the traffic circle reads: "Jeff Hanneman's Circle Pit - unforgettable SLAYER guitarist” and will stay up for one year.
Polish TV news report on the renaming (no idea if it has NSFW language... I don't speak Polish)
