Rob Zombie quits Rock Fest show 2 songs in

by Lunchbox

The crowd last night at Rock Fest in Cadott, WI was left empty handed after Rob Zombie walked off stage two songs into his headlining set.

Zombie was set to close out the 4-day event that included Aerosmith, Five Finger Death Punch, Stone Sour, and Steel Panther. Prior to Zombie taking the stage, Corey Taylor and Stone Sour unleashed a massive 16-song "farewell" show. Stone Sour announced that they have a covers EP coming out soon, and made it clear this was their last show "for a while".

Two songs into their set, it was apparent that Corey Taylor was dealing with throat/vocal cord issues, and he acknowledged that to the crowd. He even made the comment "most bands would say 'one more song' and wrap it, but I'm not going to do that". Taylor almost fed off the crowds admiration for his guts, he kept reaching deeper and deeper to find a way to push through the show that included a cover of Metallica's "Creeping Death".

After all of the raw emotion and dedication that Taylor showed, Zombie brought the night to a screeching halt because of his vocal issues. The crowd was left in confusion for over 50 minutes until a Tweet from Zombie was shown on the video boards, and the crew started tearing down.

Here's video of the set:
