We’ve added three new tunes to our roster of rock this week. Listen for the latest from Five Finger Death Punch, Papa Roach and Stone Sour.
The new 5FDP track, “Battle Born” is from their upcoming album, The Wrong Side Of Heaven And The Righteous Side Of Hell Volume 2, in stores November 19th. The song will also be included in the Battlefield 4 video game set for release September 24th. Battle Born is a bit of a ballad. But, it's something front man Ivan Moody can pull off seamlessly from his more prevalent screaming on other tracks. I sense the song is about how lonely life can be on the road. Although, it also plays to what it must be like halfway across the world on the battlefield.
Papa Roach is back on the scene with their new release, “Leader Of The Broken Hearts”. The single is the fourth release from last year’s The Connection album. I expected to hear a sad break-up song. Far from it. Papa Roach takes the negativity associated with life’s drama and instead of looking for pity, they celebrate their status as leaders of the sad, mad and those down on their luck. It’s an amazingly powerful, uplifting song. The video is worth watching too. Check it out here:
The final song added this week is a new one from, Stone Sour. Corey Taylor and crew are at it with, “Tired”. The song is another release from, The House Of Gold & Bones Part 1. It’s another awesome tune from this band, highlighted with Taylor’s haunting vocals. The video is great at capturing what an outdoor Stone Sour show is all about.
