The 2014 Winter Olympic flame went out in Sochi last night. Host country, Russia came out on top in the medal count with 33. Team USA was second with 28 total medals and Norway, Canada and The Netherlands round out the top five.  

Your Sioux Falls Storm opened their 15th season with a 52-35 victory over the Nebraska Danger.  The Storm are in Colorado this Friday night. 

Little E, Dale Earnhardt Jr. won the Daytona 500 for the second time in his career yesterday.  The Great American Race was delayed for 6 1/2 hours by a powerful storm in south Florida.

End of an era. The little that was left of the 32-year old Metrodome came down yesterday under a controlled explosion. The Vikes were the last remaining tenants in the Dome.  They will play the next two years at the Gopher's TCF Bank stadium while the new Vikings billion-dollar glass palace is being built.


Spring training for the Twins is in full swing down in Ft. Myers, FL.  The first exhibition game of the season is Saturday afternoon against the Red Sox.
