Defense wins championships. That old adage certainly held true as the sizzling Seattle Seahawks destroyed the Denver Broncos 43-8 in Super Bowl 48. Seattle's Legion Of Boom defense was able to suffocate the league's top scoring offense of all time by only allowing a single touchdown at the end of the third quarter. By then, the game was pretty much over. Linebacker, Malcolm Smith was named the game's MVP. This is Seattle's first Super Bowl win and the fifth Super Bowl loss for Denver. Odds are already in for next year's big game. Seattle is the early favorite at 7-to-1. Denver and San Francisco are 8-to-1 odds and New England is a 12-to-1 favorite.
Your Sioux Falls Stampede finally got a much needed win Saturday night in Fargo. They beat the Force 5-2, ending an ugly losing skid. The Herd hopes for another victory when they host Fargo at the Arena tomorrow night.
