The NCAA Tournament started last night, sort of. The First Four played for their shot to make it into the official field of 64. It was N.C. State over Xavier to earn a bid against St. Louis and Albany beat Mount St. Mary in order to face number one seeded Florida. The rest of the tournament kicks off tomorrow all across the country.
The Minnesota Wild let out some frustrations with a 6-0 shutout of the Islanders last night.
Speaking of hockey, the Boston Bruins are one of the best teams in the league and they extended their winning streak to 10 games with a win over New Jersey. This is Boston's second 10-game winning streak of the season.
Potential Twins starter Vance Worley looked awful in a spring training game yesterday. He allowed 11 hits and gave up seven runs as Minnesota lost to Tampa Bay 11-3. Worley is trying to nail down the fifth spot in the Twins rotation. He's battling fellow starters Samuel Deduno, Scott Diamond and Kyle Gibson.
