KRRO Sports Wrap - Wednesday, March 5

Pitcher, Phil Hughes made his spring debut for the Twins down in Florida yesterday.  He allowed one run and struck out three in nearly three innings of work.  Top prospect, Byron Buxton went 0-5 in his first start of Spring Training.

Former Twin and two-time Cy Young Award winner, Johan Santana has signed a minor league deal with Baltimore.  The 34-year old lefty is trying to come back from his second shoulder surgery on his throwing arm.

The Vikings have released oft-injured veteran tight end, John Carlson.  That roster move will save Minnesota over 2-million dollars of cap space.

Kurt Busch announced yesterday that he will race a “double”.  He’ll be the first driver in a decade to run the Indy 500 and the Coca-Cola 600 in the same day. Those 1,100 miles would be the same distance as driving from Sioux Falls to San Antonio, Texas.
