Finance nerds at the Council for Community and Economic Research figure out the wealth happiness tipping point for each state, the average for the entire country is $75,000 a year . That's the point where you earning more money won't necessarily make you happier, of course it varies by state. South Dakotans dig the simple stuff, only needing $73,725 a year to be at our happiest. Iowans are even more modest hitting their peak at $69,375 bucks a year. Minnesotans need more, $76,350 to be satisfied. Mississippians are the easiest in the nation to please and Hawaiians need to learn to enjoy the simple stuff, like watching volcanoes and laying on the beach. It takes $122,175 dollars to make islanders happy.
