Minnesota Wild secured forward Brad Winchester from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for defense-man Brian Connelly. Winchester has 16 goal and 14 assists in Chicago’s development league team. 32 year old Winchester played 390 NHL games with 68 points and 552 penalty minutes.

Doctors found CTE in the brain of a 29 year old dead soccer player. Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy causes concern in the NFL with players suffering life long and lethal deterioration of the brain from hits to the head. This is the first case in a soccer player… on known for his headers… a sport many thought was safer because of limited physical contact.

NFL won’t have to move Super Bowl 49, set for Arizona. The idea was something the league said they would investigate if Arizona passed a law allowing businesses to deny service to gay couples. Arizona’s governor vetoed the bill saying it could have unintended consequences.
