It’s official: Paramore has scored their first #1 album on the Billboard 200.
The band's self-titled release secured the #1 slot this week with over 106,000 copies sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Paramore’s highest-charting release on the Billboard tally before now was 2009’s Brand New Eyes , which scored the #2 spot with 175,000 copies sold its first week out.
In addition to recently topping the U.K.'s Official Album Chart , Paramore has racked up #1 debuts on album charts in Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Argentina, Brazil and Mexico.
Volbeat and Stone Sour also scored top-10 positions on the Billboard 200 this week. Volbeat's Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies clocked in at #9 on the tally with 39,000 copies sold, while Stone Sour's House of Gold and Bones Part 2 came in at #10 with 35,000 copies sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
The second installment of Stone Sour's concept double album may have had a better first sales week than the Part 1 , but it didn't chart higher than the 2012 release. House of Gold and Bones Part 1 debuted at #7 on the tally last November with 31,000 copies sold.
