SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The Sioux Falls bike trail is open after crews combed it for tree limbs last week.
Parks and Recreation Director Don Kearney says the effort will now focus on getting the city's parks ready for warmer days.
Kearney says crews are working in the highly used parks like McKennan, Sherman, Tuthill and Falls Park. He says they're in the process of removing hanging branches. He encourages people to stay away from parks until the branches and piles can be removed.
Kearney says some parks are open without restriction including Dawley, Family, Galway, Judee, Lien, Oak View, Phillips Avenue Plaza, Prairie Meadows, Southern Vista and Willow Ridge.
He says the Parks Department is working on a plan to get the softball and baseball diamonds ready for play.
