SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The Minnehaha County Commission today approved rezoning property where Preheim Landscaping sits on Highway 42 from agriculture to commercial.
County planners say the purpose of the rezoning is to sell the property at a higher price.
Commissioner John Pekas says the property is more suited to commercial than agriculture. Pekas says the land uses in the Red Rock Corridor are going to have some growing pains and Preheim was one of the odd lots. He says eventually these kinds of situations will resolve themselves.
The agriculture zoning allowed Preheim to grow trees on the property, but retail sales were not allowed.
