SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Police say a Sioux Falls woman is out $1,700 after she gave a check to a man hired to repair her gutters.
Officer Sam Clemens says the 56-year-old victim approached the suspect last Thursday as he was removing trees from a neighbor’s property on North Sherman. She asked if he could repair her gutters damaged in the ice storm
Clemens says he told her he needed $1,700 as a down payment and she gave him a check. The victim's bank confirms that the check was cashed but he hasn't been back since
Clemens says police have a name and the name of a business, but there has not been an arrest.
