SIOUX FALLS, S.D.(KWSN) - Augustana head women's basketball coach Dave Krauth announced the 2013-14 schedule on Wednesday afternoon.  The schedule consists of four non-conference home games and 22-game Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference schedule.

The Vikings are coming off a historic season which featured a school-record 28 wins and the program's first trip to the Elite Eight.  Augustana brought home the first conference title for head coach Dave Krauth by winning the NSIC Tournament.  Adding to their title haul, the Vikings captured their first Central Region championship one week later. The Vikings knocked off No. 1 Clayton State in the Elite Eight, making their first appearance in the national semifinals. Augustana opens the 2013-14 campaign with Jamestown College at the Elmen Center on Nov. 16.

The Vikings are scheduled to play William Penn (Nov. 19), Presentation (Nov. 21), and Midland (Neb.) University (Nov. 30) as their non-conference opponents.  All non-conference games will be played at the Elmen Center.   Coach Krauth and the Vikings then begin conference play with a Nov. 25 date at Wayne State to open the 22-game conference slate.  Augustana will play all teams from the NSIC South Division twice and teams from the NSIC's North Division once.

The NSIC Tournament first round is slotted for Feb. 26 with the higher seed hosting before the Sanford Pentagon plays host to the final eight teams beginning on March 1. First round of the NCAA Central Region tournament is set for March 14 and the NCAA Elite Eight will begin on March 26 in Erie, Pa. The Vikings return two starters in Shaunteva Ashley and Emily Schulte to pair with key reserves Riley Nordgaard and Andrea Whitney.  Ashley was named to the All-NSIC second team and Nordgaard earned a spot on the All-NSIC Freshman squad.
