While Stone Sour did some touring to promote House of Gold and Bones this year, the band has plans to unveil something more elaborate for their next outing. Frontman Corey Taylor says that fans can expect to take in an elaborate stage show during the band’s 2014 tour -- on which Stone Sour will perform each part of the concept double album over the course of two-night residencies at each stop.
“There will be a comprehensive, very elaborate stage setup that honestly we’ve never really even tried before,” he tells ABC News Radio. “[There’s] gonna be a lot of moving parts, a lot of things happening that people don’t even understand until much later, [including] a whole lighting rig that works almost on a theatrical level. It’s gonna be the most complex and exciting thing that we’ve ever tried.”
There will be a live DVD from the upcoming tour, Taylor notes, but he also has in mind two full-length feature films based on House of Gold and Bones which he hopes will have a unique visual style .
“I want to have a stylized vibe with the movies…I don’t just want to put something out that just feels like a typical couple of run-of-the-mill movies that really don’t capture the imagination the way they should,” he explains. “I’m definitely kinda looking into ideas about what I can do to really amp them up and take them to the next level.”
