SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KWSN)— University of South Dakota senior forward Tempestt Wilson has been named to the All-Summit League Team as selected by the league’s head coaches, sports information directors and select media and announced Thursday by the league office. Wilson is a second-team selection.
Wilson, who hails from Elk River, Minn., was the fifth-leading scorer in League play this season at 15 points per game. She has played and started in all 29 games this season. She shot 45 percent from the field and 38 percent from 3-point range in League play, which placed her in the top 10 of both categories.
Teammate Nicole Seekamp, a sophomore from Renmark, South Australia, earned honorable mention honors and was named to the five-woman All-Newcomer Team. Seekamp is the League’s eighth-leading scorer at 13 points per game. She also ranks in the top 10 of the League in steals (44) and assists (96).
The third-seeded Coyotes (15-14) are competing in the Summit League Tournament at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Sioux Falls against sixth-seeded North Dakota State (10-18). It is the first appearance for USD in its first season of eligibility.
