SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Police say two Sioux Falls residents are out a total of seven hundred dollars in an on-line, loan scam.
Officer Sam Clemens says the pitch is that the applicant must send the “on-line business” hundreds to get thousands.
Clemens says if you search the web for a loan company, your job is half done. He advises checking to make sure you're dealing with a legitimate business. Check to see if there have been any fraudulent reports against that business. He says that's an easy search, especially if you've spent time finding these companies
Clemens says a 21-year-old woman wired two-hundred dollars and a 34-year-old man sent a five-hundred dollar gift card.
