Coldplay has seven golden Grammy Awards on their trophy shelf, but now the band will be adding something silver to their collection. The group will be honored with the Royal Albert Hall Best British Act Award at the 2013 Silver Clef Awards , handed out annually by Nordoff Robbins, a U.K. charity that brings music therapy to ill and disabled people.
“It means a huge amount to us to be named Best British Act by Nordoff Robbins at the 2013 O2 Silver Clef Awards,” said frontman Chris Martin in a statement. “Nordoff Robbins is an organization that lies very close to our hearts. They provide life-changing music therapy for thousands of people each year and we’re humbled to collect this award in their honor.”
Coldplay will accept the award at ceremonies taking place at the London Hilton on Park Lane June 28.
