SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - All lanes of Cliff Avenue and Interstate I-90 opened to traffic today.
The nearly $17-and-a-half million project began in April and included the installation of two new bridges.
Federal Highway Administrator Victor Mendez says the aging interchange is a prime example of the President’s call to “Fix it First” campaign.
Mendez says it's important to recognize the connection that can be made between an investment in the nation's future in transportation and how that will impact the economy for years to come, making the economy better.
The interchange is controlled by a single traffic light similar to the 10th Street and I-229 interchange.
The project included concrete pavement, curb and gutter, sidewalks, storm sewer, water main, lighting, traffic signals, permanent signing and pavement markings.
