SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO-AM) The Sioux Falls Police Department and Metro Communications are proud to announce that they will host a Citizens’ Academy. The Academy consists of training in topics such as police patrol procedures, K-9 operations, crime scene processing, crime prevention, and investigative methods of fraud, narcotics, theft, and assaults. Metro Communications will also conduct presentations on their function and how the 911 Center works.
Classes will be held on Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. for ten weeks. The 2014 session begins January 16, 2014, and ends March 20, 2014. The classes will be conducted at the Sioux Falls Law Enforcement Center, located at 320 West Fourth Street.

Class size is limited. You must be at least 18 years of age to attend. Applications are due by Thursday, December 12, 2013.
