If you want Dave Grohl to produce your next record, all you have to do is ask. The Foo Fighters frontman, who recently worked with country superstars Zac Brown Band on their follow-up to 2012’s Uncaged , says he agreed to help the guys after he was approached by their lead singer.

“The funny thing is that I met Zac Brown at a clothing store before the last Grammys and we swapped numbers,” he tells Rolling Stone . “A couple of weeks later he asked me if I would produce the next record. I'd never heard him before and I said, ‘Yes.’”

Grohl notes he hadn’t heard any of ZBB’s music before working with the band and playing with them earlier this month at the 47th Annual Country Music Association Awards either. “The first time I ever heard Zac was when I hit record in Nashville and said, ‘Okay, we’re rolling,’” he reveals. “The band is so good they can be tracked live, we didn't f**k with computers, we tracked live, four-part harmonies around one microphone. It’s rocking.”

Grohl adds he’s got a special plan in mind for making Foo Fighters follow-up to 2011’s Wasting Light . “We’re doing something that nobody knows about, it’s f**king rad,” he explains. “We begin recording soon, but we’re doing it in a way that no one’s done before and we’re writing the album in a way that I don’t think has been done before.”
