BURNSVILLE, Minn. (KWSN)– Augustana women's golfer Maggie Leland was the individual leader at the Fall NSIC Championships and earned Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Women's Golfer of the Week honors the league announced Tuesday.
Leland, who won the individual conference title in 2011-12, fired a 5-over-par 77 on Sunday to go with her first-round score of 81 to lead all players at 14-over-par 158. The senior will carry a two-stroke lead into the final two rounds of the NSIC Championships in April.
Augustana is tied for the team-lead with Concordia-St. Paul after the first two rounds of the NSIC Championships. The Vikings fired a 326 in round one and 330 in round two to finish at 80-over-par 656.
This marks the ninth time Leland has earned NSIC Women's Golfer of the Week in her career.
Augustana will close-out the fall portion of its 2013-14 schedule on Oct. 21-22 at the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Fall Preview in St. Charles, Mo.
