Arctic Monkeys ’s AM and Foals ’ Holy Fire have both made the short list for the Mercury Prize, which is awarded annually to the best album from the U.K. and Ireland. The bands will be facing off against ten other bands vying for the prize, which is voted on by industry experts.  The winner gets a check for 20,000 pounds, which is just over $32,000.

Both groups aren't strangers to being nominated for the prestigious award. Arctic Monkeys bagged the prize for their debut album, 2006’s Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not , and made the short list the following year for Favourite Worst Nightmare . Foals made the short list for the prize in 2010 for their sophomore effort, Total Life Forever .

The Mercury Prize winner will be revealed on October 30.  To see the full list of nominees, visit MercuryPrize.com .
