Who better to give advice to new bands about the art and science of touring, than experienced touring bands themselves? That's the thinking of Papa Roach 's Tony Palermo and Tobin Esperance , who have a new clip on the website Digital Tour Bus , which takes fans behind-the-scenes on the tour buses of their favorite bands.
The new video is two-and-a-half minutes long and features some "tour tips" for traveling artists. First and foremost, both guys emphasize the virtues of good personal hygiene while traveling in close quarters: foot spray, deodorant and lots of teeth-brushing. Esperance also recommends, "put socks on the [tour] rider. You get a new pair of socks every day. So what if your feet are black with the fresh lint of new socks?"
Other pertinent advice from the Papa Roach guys includes not letting drinking or smoking cloud nutritional decisions, and making sure to set aside time to practice playing and to write songs because, as Esperance says, "it's all about the songs."
The guys of Papa Roach are living that "all about the songs" motto these days; frontman Jacoby Shaddix broke the news earlier this week that that the band is recording a new album in Las Vegas.
