Lorde and Bastille Top Mid-Year Rock Sales Charts

2014 is half over, sales numbers are in, and  Lorde  and  Bastille  are leading the way. Lorde's  Pure Heroine  sold more than 641,000 copies during the last six months, snagging the top album slot, and Bastille nailed the top single with its smash "Pompeii," which sold 2.3 million copies. This according to  Billboard , which has compiled the mid-year charts for rock albums and singles.

Not too far behind Lorde is  Coldplay : the band's album  Ghost Stories  has sold 589,000 copies, which is just 50,000 copies less than  Pure Heroine , and  Ghost Stories  was released just six weeks ago. 

Here are the top rock albums for the first half of 2014:

1. Lorde --  Pure Heroine , 641,000 copies
2. Coldplay --  Ghost Stories , 589,000 copies
3. Imagine Dragons --  Night Visions , 424,000 copies
4. The Black Keys --  Turn Blue , 328,000 copies
5. Bastille --  Bad Blood , 277,000 copies
6. Beck --  Morning Phase , 242,000 copies
7. Arctic Monkeys --  AM , 237,000 copies
8. Bruce Springsteen --  High Hopes , 198,000 copies
9. Jack White --  Lazaretto , 193,000 copies
10. Lana Del Rey --  Born To Die , 160,000 copies

Here are the top rock singles for the first half of 2014: 

1. Bastille -- "Pompeii," 2,321,000 copies
2. Passenger -- "Let Her Go," 1,787,000 copies
3. Lorde -- "Team," 1,754,000 copies
4. American Authors -- "Best Day of My Life," 1,491,000 copies
5. Lorde -- "Royals," 1,257,000 copies
6. Imagine Dragons -- "Radioactive," 1,131,000 copies
7. Imagine Dragons -- "Demons," 1,122,000 copies
8. Paramore -- "Ain't It Fun," 1,093,000 copies
9. AWOLNATION -- "Sail," 689,000 copies
10. Kongos -- "Come with Me Now," 628,0000 copies
