Joan Jett and the Blackhearts will be the opening band for The Who 's Roger Daltrey next month at a benefit concert for the Teen Cancer America organization, which Daltrey cofounded with band mate Pete Townshend .
The event will specifically raise money for The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, which in conjunction with Teen Cancer America is developing a unit geared toward the needs of teenagers and young adults battling the disease.
Daltrey will be performing a mix of classic Who songs, solo tunes and other material at the show, which will take place July 28 at Verizon Hall at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia.
Tickets go on sale to the general public starting this Friday at 10 a.m. ET, and can be purchased at KimmelCenter.org or the Kimmel Center Box Office. Limited VIP packages and pre-sale tickets also are available; visit KimmelCenter.org for details.
