Sioux Falls, SD (KELO-AM) Governor Dennis Daugaard (R) in Sioux Falls early Tuesday officially launched his re-election campaign for four more years.
Daugaard was making similar annoucements in Rapid City and Pierre.
He had his granddaughter in his arms and his family by his side as he talked about the 'tough choices' he made in his first four years, especially the first year when South Dakota was trying to shrug off the national recession.
Daugaard says he helped transform a structural deficit into a state budget with a surplus.
Two Democrats are running for South Dakota governor: Joe Lowe and Susan Wismer.
