SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - American employers lose an estimated 226-billion dollars a year because of healthcare expenses and losses in productivity.
Chrissy Meyer with the American Heart Association says becoming a Fit-Friendly Worksite makes employee’s wellness a priority.
Typical worksites offer employees physical activity options in the workplace, increase healtheating options, promote a wellness culture and implement American Heart Association criteria for physical activity, nutrition and culture.
The American Heart Association recognizes Fit-Friendly Worksites twice a year. The next round of applications are due by November 1 and will be awarded in February 2015.
