SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO-AM) - Storm chaser Scott Sheppard was struck by lightning on Tuesday near Fairburn, South Dakota. Incredibly, he caught the entire incident on video.
Sheppard was filming from inside his vehicle when lightning struck Shepard's arm, passed through his vehicle and hit the road. Pieces of asphalt exploding into the air are visible on the video. Shepard's vehicle and another nearby car had to be towed from the scene of the strike.
Sheppard told the Weather Channel that he made the mistake of having his arm out of the window as he was filming, but says he wasn't seriously hurt.
