PIERRE, S.D. (KELO.com) — The South Dakota Department of Health reports five more deaths from the coronavirus or related causes.
The state’s death toll is now 277.
There are 5,186 active cases in the state, an increase of 515 over yesterday. That is a new daily high.
There are 267 South Dakotans in hospital from the virus, a drop of 17 patients.
Twelve percent of the state’s hospital beds are being used for COVID-19 patients.
Thirty-eight percent of the state’s hospital beds remain available.
Another 254 residents have recovered for a total of 21,750.
