SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — South Dakota is ahead of national averages in getting residents their first and second shots of the coronavirus vaccine.
That’s according to the New York Time’s Coronavirus Tracker.
Eleven percent of South Dakotans are fully vaccinated, while the national average is just over 8%.
Twenty-two percent of South Dakota residents have received at least one dose.
Meanwhile, the national average is 16%.
Coronavirus cases were down slightly yesterday (Thursday) in Minnehaha County but up in the United States, in South Dakota, and in Lincoln County.
The Times say that Minnehaha County saw a one percent decrease in COVID-19 cases from Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Lincoln County saw a ten percent increase and South Dakota a seven percent hike.
There was a two percent increase in cases nationally.
