SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) – The city council moved one step closer to gifting land north of Axtell Park to a Veterans Community Project (VCP).
The VCP organization is planning a tiny house village for homeless veterans. The transfer of property from the city requires that construction begin within two years and have half of the 30 planned homes completed within 3 years. The development will also have a community center to serve the village residents.
The council voted unanimously to proceed with the transfer. 2nd reading for the ordinance is July 20th.
VCP is a nonprofit organization serving homeless and at-risk Veterans with tiny homes, wrap-around support services, and emergency assistance.
