SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Surprisingly, the bad guys don’t always like to give their names when the Sioux Falls Police nab them.
Who knew!
Here are the “highlights” of Wednesday’s police briefing.
OVERNIGHT STABBING #1
A man walking down the sidewalk last night after purchasing some beer was stabbed when he wouldn’t give his assailant any.
The incident happened Tuesday night in the 11th Street and Duluth Avenue area.
The victim thought the culprit hit him in the back.
But when he got home, the victim felt blood.
He went to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Triston Michael Labelle, 22, from Sioux Falls, is charged with aggravated assault and other counts.
OVERNIGHT STABBING #2
A Sioux Falls man is in custody after stabbing a woman in the leg last (Tuesday) night.
Police say the woman was driving and the man was a passenger.
They got into an argument, and he stabbed her in the leg.
The authorities say they at first tried to blame others for the incident.
Melson Phillip Begay, 38, is charged with aggravated assault.
The victim had non-life-threatening injuries.
FUNNY MONEY PASSED
Sioux Falls Police are investigating someone passing a fake $100 bill.
A local business reported finding the funny money Friday.
NOT JUST FAKE MONEY BUT FAKE NAMES
In several incidents, Sioux Falls Police say the suspects have given them fake names.
Officer Sam Clemens says, “it happens all the time.”
He says it’s particularly so if a person has outstanding warrants.
For example, both suspects in Tuesday night’s stabbing incidents gave fake identities.
