RAPID CITY, S.D. (KELO.com) –North Spruce Street in Rapid City was the scene of a grizzly double shooting Monday night, which local authorities are investigating as a parent murder/child suicide.
Brendyn Medina, community relations specialist for the Rapid City Police Department, said the deceased, 26-year-old Trisha Paxton-Dennett and her four-year-old son Russel Reeves, were discovered by a family member.
Resources have also been made available for responding officers, many of whom Medina said to have children themselves.
Medina said in light of the working murder/suicide theory, the investigation has continued moving forward.
