SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — South Dakota is right in the middle nationally as to current death rates due to the coronavirus.
That’s according to the New York Times Coronavirus Tracker.
South Dakota has the 25th highest death rate per capita from the virus at 0.45 deaths per 100,000 population.
Over that past week, an average of four South Dakotans a day have died from COVID-19.
Other regional states:
Wyoming has the sixth-highest rate at 1.11 deaths per 100,000 population. The Cowboy state is averaging over six deaths per day over the past seven days.
Montana has the 12th-highest rate at 0.79 deaths per 100,000 residents and over eight deaths per day.
