SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) – According to a release from Governor Kristi Noem’s campaign, the first-term governor won’t need to pinch pennies even as she faces a primary challenge.
Candidates for office were required to file campaign finance reports last Friday. Noem’s campaign touted their commanding lead over challenger SD Representative Steve Haugaard.
According to a statement from the campaign committee, Noem raised $11.8 million for her re-election campaign, while Haugaard has raised $56,000.
The Governor’s campaign has more than $7.3 million cash on hand, while Haugaard had just under $36,000.
The primary election is June 7.
