SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) – The Sioux Falls Stampede released their 2022-23 regular-season schedule on Monday.
The Herd will open the season at the USHL Fall Classic in Pittsburgh for two games on September 22 and 23 against the Muskegon Lumberjacks and Cedar Rapids RoughRiders. The club will open at home on Saturday, October 15th against the Fargo Force at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center.
The regular-season schedule consists of 62 games comprised of mainly Western Conference opponents for the second consecutive season. The full home schedule features weekend dates: Friday (14), Saturday (12), Sunday (3), and a lone game on Wednesday, Dec. 28 against the Omaha Lancers. Start times this season will remain the same as last year with Wednesday and Friday games starting at 7:05 PM, Saturday’s at 6:05 PM, and Sunday’s at 4:05 PM. A complete promotional schedule will be released at a later date.
Fans will again be treated to more rivalry matchups at the PREMIER Center. The Herd takes on rival Fargo 12 times this season (six home, six away) and will face the defending Clark Cup champion Sioux City Musketeers 10 times (five home, five away). The remainder of opponents includes the defending Western Conference regular-season champion Tri-City Storm (four home, four away), Omaha Lancers (four home, four away), Lincoln Stars (four home, four away), Waterloo Black Hawks (four home, three away), and the Des Moines Buccaneers (three home, three away).
The Musketeers will visit Sioux Falls for the first time on Friday, November 4th. The club is excited to bring back their annual New Year’s Eve game when they face the Madison Capitols at 6:05 PM. It will mark the first time since the 2019-20 season that the Herd will face the Capitols. The regular season will conclude on Saturday, April 24th on home ice against the Force.
