SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Kristi Noem has been granted a second term.
The incumbent Governor defeated Democratic challenger Jamie Smith, winning a second term as the state’s first female governor.
Noem’s margin of victory was 63%-34%.
Noem ran on a platform of lower taxes and constitutional freedoms, as well as touting her record during the pandemic.
She begins her second term in January 2023.
