SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — A Blizzard Warning is set to begin at noon on Wednesday until noon Thursday. The blizzard area covers parts of eastern South Dakota and southwestern Minnesota. The rest of South Dakota will be under a Winter Storm Warning.
The Sioux Falls National Weather Service says winds gusting 40 to 50 mph will be a significant factor with the storm. Additionally, falling temperatures will result in below zero wind chills. The wind chills, which could drop to -30, pose a threat if you get stranded outdoors livestock and pets without shelter are at risk as well.
