RAPID CITY, SD (KELO.com) — Exports are the central focus as the Motorcade for Trade gets rolling across farm country. U-S House Agriculture Committee member, Congressman Dusty Johnson was part of a panel at an event in Rapid City over the weekend. Canada, China and Mexico are the top three farm export markets for South Dakota farm goods, making up nearly two-thirds of the state’s farm exports.
The group is opposed to tariffs issued by the Trump Administration, saying farmers are being hurt by the fees on U.S. trade partners. Congressman Johnson says the issue will be resolved by the court system because of legal challenges against the Administration’s actions. The Motorcade for Trade is a 25-hundred-mile tour through farm country focused on speaking out against tariffs.
