One of the largest gun ranges in the nation is about to open near Rapid City…and not everyone is happy about it.
The 20-million-dollar range was opposed by some state lawmakers and neighbors of the project.
Former Governor Kristi Noem used 13.5-million dollars in Future Fund money, and the state raised over Six-million privately to pay for it.
It will be open every day and will be free to public use.
Officials say no state money will be used for its 400-thousand-dollar annual operating budget.
