Pierre, SD (KELO.com) — Regional Community Bankers say the farm economy is sagging. Creighton University’s monthly “Rural Mainstreet Index” of the ten-state region fell deeper into negative territory. Low commodity prices are the main problem…and nearly three-fourths of the bankers surveyed say tariffs are largely to blame. Bankers say falling commodity prices are the biggest threat to banking operations in the next year.
