PIERRE, S.D. (KELO.com) — The South Dakota Department of Health reports that the influenza remains at the sporadic level in the state.
The department reports one new case this past week.
There were no new deaths.
Two people have died from the flu this season.
There were no new hospitalizations.
Seven people have been hospitalized over the course of the flu season.

Influenza activity was at “SPORADIC” level in South Dakota during the past week.
- One new confirmed* case of influenza was reported last week (Potter County) *Lab confirmed: PCR, culture or DFA. Total of 66 (37 A/29 B) confirmed cases so far this season.
- 1.34% positive rapid antigen tests reported statewide (3 positives (0A/3B) [Hyde, Pennington & Yankton Counties] out of 224 individuals tested last week). Total 6,190 tests performed so far this season.
- Zero new influenza-associated hospitalizations were reported last week. Total of 7 hospitalizations so far this season.
- Zero new influenza-associated deaths were reported last week. Total of 2 deaths so far this season.
