WATERTOWN, S.D. (KELO.com) — Prairie Lakes Healthcare System in Watertown was hacked early last month, causing a “disruption” to their IT system, the company announced Wednesday.
The announcement said Prairie Lakes has hired a third-party cybersecurity firm to help investigate the October 6 hack and also reached out to federal law enforcement.
The release from the hospital says they haven’t found any evidence so far that personal data was compromised, though the hack is still under investigation.
The company said they “worked quickly to restore critical systems” and the hack had “minimal impact” on patient care.
