SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — The Sioux Falls National Weather Service says they’ve had a few reports of graupel (soft hail or snow pellets) today as an area of precipitation moves through. The service says light snow will spread across much of the area this afternoon. Mixed precipitation will be possible. The Sioux Falls National Weather Service advises that some locations, especially in southwest Minnesota, could become slick with ice and up to 2 inches of snowfall. Most other places will only receive a half inch or less. Additionally, gusty winds will produce some blowing and drifting snow, and keep wind chill values in the single digits and teens.
