VERMILLIONS, S.D. (KELO.com) — The University of South Dakota athletic department introduced head women’s basketball coach Kayla Karius Monday afternoon.
Karius becomes the 11th women’s basketball head coach in Coyotes history.
University of South Dakota President Sheila Gestring says Karius checked all the boxes.
Karius returns to South Dakota after previously serving as an assistant coach with the Coyotes from 2016-18. She says it was a no-brainer to come back to Vermillion:

Karius takes over for Dawn Plitzuweit, who was named head coach at West Virginia.
