WASHINGTON, D.C. (KELO.com) — Senator John Thune has met with Judge Amy Coney Barrett.
The face-masked Thune greeted the face-masked Barrett with an elbow bump.
Thune says they discussed her experience and judicial philosophy.
“After meeting with Judge Barrett, I am confident that she has what it takes to be a phenomenal Supreme Court justice.”
Barrett is making the rounds on Capitol Hill, meeting with lawmakers who will be voting on her confirmation.
It’s mostly Republican rounds. Most Democrat senators appear unwilling to receive a courtesy call from Judge Barrett.
President Donald Trump picked Barrett for the vacancy created by the death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
