BROOKINGS, S.D. (KELO.com) — A majority of South Dakotans would support a mask mandate, according to a poll conducted by South Dakota State University.
According to the poll, 56 percent support requiring face masks at indoor public places. About 35 percent oppose any mandates. The overwhelming majority of respondents that support mask mandates are Democrats.
The South Dakota Voter Survey was conducted in the first two weeks of October by the SDSU Poll, a research group at the University. 485 registered voters were surveyed on a variety of questions about the response to the pandemic.
A slight majority, just a fraction over 50 percent, are critical of the way Governor Kristi Noem is handling the state’s response to COVID-19.
