SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — A recent officer-involved shooting by the Violent Crimes Unit of the Sioux Falls Police Department was justified. The Division of Criminal Investigation says federal parolee Richard Olson, Jr. pointed a gun at two detectives, who then opened fire on March 31st. They didn’t strike Olson, but he fell to the ground, then tried to run from the scene. A K-9 unit was deployed and Olson was arrested. He tested positive for meth.
