Center Robert Williams III has agreed to sign a three-year, $44 million contract extension to return to the Portland Trail Blazers.
LIFT Sports Management told ESPN of the extension, which extends through the 2028-29 season.
Williams, 28, averaged 6.7 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in 59 games (one start) this past season with the Trail Blazers. He also shot 70.8% from the floor while coming off the bench as a backup to Donovan Clingan.
Williams was acquired from the Boston Celtics with Malcolm Brogdon in the Jrue Holiday trade on Oct. 1, 2023.
A second-team All-NBA Defensive selection after the 2021-22 season, Williams has averaged 7.1 points and 6.9 rebounds in 294 career games (101 starts) with the Celtics and Trail Blazers. He was selected by Boston with the 27th overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft.
